I got this idea for a pale and tired space traveler after reading "the tales for Pirx the pilot" by classic sci-fi writer Stanislaw Lem. The shape of the helmet is inspired by "Commander Oddball" from "Revenge of the Sith". The face is based on my own face and I used Modos sculpting tools to tweak the mesh (for example pushing in the cheeks and pulling down the eye lids). I've textured the face using my own "skin" but don't worry, I'm not that pale and I don't have those dark areas under my eyes.
I'm using three 4k color and bump maps on this model. One for the helmet, one for the face and one for the body.
This is a different render using my Spitfire model.
I like the angle in this one even though you can't see all the details that you could see in the previous version (seen from the side).

Inspired by the movie "Battle of Britain" with Michael Caine. Trying to catch a cinematic feeling in this one. The render is 1500px wide so take a look at the full sized version - I think it looks much better than the downsized one.

C4DR10 + BodyPaint3. The model has a single 4096*4096px color map and bump map. The pilot and propeller have their own texture maps. A "fun" detail is that I have used my own face when texturing the pilots face - this is however not visible The background is made up of two 2D planes.

The Fiat 125 was a "large" family car introduced by Fiat in 1967. A license copy was also produced in Poland by the FSO car factory from 1967 until 1991, under the brand Polski Fiat as the Polski Fiat 125p. This is a fictive police version of this car.

I created this model to practice point-by-point modeling in Cinema4D because I’ve so far mainly modeled using box modeling and nurbs.

The image is rendered using Cinema4D's standard rendering engine - no GI & HDRI used in this one.

Take a look at the full sized images becasue the details aren't very visible in the downsized one.
From wikipedia:
"The term foo fighter was used by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II to describe various UFOs or mysterious aerial phenomena seen in the skies over Europe and the Pacific theatre. Contemporary witnesses often assumed that the foo fighters were secret weapons employed by the enemy. Despite these fears, foo fighters (whatever they might have been) were apparently never reported to have harmed or tried to harm anyone"

The P-47 was, in a very indirect sense, a gift from Soviet Union to the United States of America. The aircraft was the product of two Georgian immigrants, Alexander de Seversky and Alexander Kartveli, who had left their homeland to escape the Bolsheviks.
In the entire history of military aviation, there has never been an airplane that could match the P-47 for ruggedness and dependability. The pilots who flew it into combat called it "The Unbreakable" and "The plane that can do anything." They were not far from wrong.
P-47's often came back from combat shot full of holes, their wings and control surfaces in tatters.

Thunderbolt

Thunderbolt - SAAB 37 Viggen
The name Viggen means The Thunderbolt, especially those resulting from the Norse god Thor's warhammer Mjölner.
Viggen is a multi-role fighter, through upgrades still modern and with some almost unique features, in service with the Swedish air force in several versions, since 1971.
Here's another in flight render but with a different texture:

This camouflage has for many become synonymous with the Viggen, but it is actually used on other aircraft for low-level missions. The mix of these colors gives an effective concealment against terrain background, which in Sweden is often covered with forest.
It took me about 10-12 hours to model the aircraft and maybe additional 10 hours to UV-map it and paint the texture. One single 2048*2048 texture is used. I also rigged it to make the movable parts posable.
Thanks and credits:
Thanks for the help I got in the WIP thread and thanks to Jose Carrascal for sending me high-res scans of the Viggen camo pattern.Backgrounds based on a photos from nessus.gunslingers.org and homepage.mac.com/laynesmith

The Mig 21 was the first successful Soviet aircraft combining fighter and interceptor in a single aircraft. It was a lightweight fighter, achieving Mach 2 speed using a relatively low-powered afterburning turbojet, and is thus comparable to the American F-104 Starfighter and French Dassault Mirage III.
The first prototype flew in 1957, entering service in 1958. In the 2nd picture you can see it together with 2 Swedish SAAB J29s.
