"...In 1944 a German Submarine type VII is heading out for the Atlantic Ocean but picks up an unknown echo on the sonar. When closing in the crew of U99 encounters a strange metallic vessel floating just beneath the surface...."

Modeled and rendered with Cinema4D. The scene is lit using one omni and two spots. The oceans surface is a simple terrain object with a "banji" shader and some cloud reflection added. The "holes" on the deck and on the side of the body are created using an alpha map an a bump map (to bend the edges inwards). "Work in progress" images and the mesh can be viewed here:
